Courage

 

I had to pause, I had to rest...

My heart was heavy, full of stress.
It feels like I am being watched,
Every step and move is caught.

But deep inside, I still believe,
My team and I can help them see.
We teach, we guide, we light the way,
Yet where’s the help to make us stay?

Some days I feel I’m torn apart,
I miss my past, it tugs my heart.
The me I was, so strong, so free,
The echoes of who I used to be.

I read today, and in those lines,
A lesson deep, a truth that shines.
To lead means standing, holding true,
Even when the winds push through.

Courage means to face the fight,
Even when it feels not right.
To speak aloud, though voices shake,
To stand up firm though bodies ache.

Endurance means we show up still,
Through every test, through every hill.
Oh, how I miss the words, I love to write!
They give me strength, they bring me light!
