Metamorphosis of the Heart

People do change, a truth revealed,

Yet change can't be forced, it must be unsealed.

They'll transform when their time is right,

So cease the pleading, let go of the fight.

He'll evolve, but your patience may fade,

If his readiness lingers, it's best to evade.

Watch him stare as you walk away,

He'll beg your return, a price to pay.

He lost something precious, he finally sees,

You loved him deeply, placed him on a pedestal with ease.

But you were never his priority, a painful refrain,

Until the moment you packed your bags, ready to abstain.

He pleaded, he begged, a plea you received,

"What have I to lose?" you conceded.

Returning with hope, you took a chance,

And now, you're surprised by his transformational dance.

He's not the same man of those past years,

He's learned, he's grown, shedding old fears.

Anticipating your wants, he shows he cares,

Gentle and patient, your heart he repairs.

He doesn't say it, he lets actions speak,

Love demonstrated in gestures, not meek.

A newfound person, this change is real,

In disbelief, you watch his heart unseal.

Though time may pass before love's renewed,

You're in for the ride, no longer subdued.

For with him again, your heart feels the flame,

A changed person, the man who reclaims.
