Eternal Horizons
Amanda,
you were so tiny,
so fragile,
so perfect,
A precious gift in life's unexpected aspect.
You made me a first-time mother,
a role I embrace,
Grateful forever, you brought joy & grace.
Now sixteen, not so little and fragile anymore.
Time slips through our fingers,
like grains on the shore.
Soon off to college, spreading wings to fly,
I can't help but marvel at the woman you've become, oh my!
Driving cars, first boyfriend, a whirlwind of change,
Watching you grow, life's chapters rearrange.
Beautiful, intelligent, and always lending a hand,
sometimes you drive me nuts, but you help me understand.
As the eldest, you guide your sisters with care,
a beacon of strength, showing them you're always there.
I may demand too much, and for that, I apologize.
Approaching adulthood, be honest, empathetic, and wise,
and embrace who you are, with all your dreams that arise.
Through life's ups and downs, remember this fond,
I will always love you infinity and beyond.
